We’ve been working hard this year on the Geargals site, and testing and reviewing so much women’s-specific gear has made us realize that we are neglecting a very important part of the populace – dogs, of course! Dogs need gear too, and dogs with good gear are happy, healthy dogs. The Geargals all have dogs, and care about our dogs – and therefore we care about our dogs’ gear! So our dogs volunteered to test out all manner of outdoor gear for canines. Our mission is to find out what works, what doesn’t, what dogs like, and what they don’t! All gear on Grrgear is tested by our own active, fun-loving, outdoor-traveling dogs, but if you’re a little rusty on dog-speak, don’t worry - we’ve even added the extra bonus of doing the translating for the dogs. So if you want to know what dogs think about the gear made for them, you’ve come to the right place.
The Grrgear dogs all live in the rather extreme environment of Alaska. The humans who live with the Geardogs need all kinds of gear for all kinds of activities – and then we realized how many activities the dogs do! We have ski dogs, crag dogs, search dogs, and companion dogs; dogs who ride in the car a lot and dogs who ride chairlifts at the local resort. They need gear too, so here’s the clearinghouse for dog’s opinions about dog gear. Our dogs have assured us that they will let us know what they think about the gear. The reviewing they leave up to us, since it’s rather hard for them to type without fingers.
